Sir Kirby Laing FREng (1916-2009) was a highly respected and admired British civil engineer. For many years he played a leading role in the growth of the family business, John Laing, which was responsible for many housing and infrastructure projects.
The Kirby Laing Foundation funds a range of charitable projects including in the fields of youth development, medical research and the preservation of cultural and environmental heritage. The Foundation generously supported the Academy’s move to Prince Philip House, and the subsequent Forum for Engineering renovation project.
